1miracle2 has a spectacular aura about1miracle2 has a spectacular aura about
Default 1m2's Nitro-puter

Here are my pieces so far:

$229.99 8.9" LG LCD TouchScreen
$74.99 MCS 4th Gen Mini ITX Case
$169.99 ZOTAC IONITX-G-E Intel Atom 330 (1.6GHz, dual-core)
$74.99 G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2
$54.99 external: DiabloTEK 8X DVD-RW
$88 M4-ATX 250W Intelligent DC-DC PSU
$71 OCZ Core Series V2 30gb Solid State Disk (SSD)

Only thing I'm waiting for is the LCD delivery.
Don't have any pix @ work to post, will post later.

Already did the OS build. Vista put 18gig's of crap even after cleaning out so I tried Abuntu 9.10, only took up 4gig's but could not find much support online yet. So decided to go w/what I know best and is stable enough. XP. ha!

This is 32bit so it's not seeing full 4gig RAM but MoBo says it supports either one 32/64bit! Took up 12gig's. I will have to get another HDD if I want to stick my media in some where. Like 500gig's muahaha...

That's all I have so far
I will be putting in Navigation
ODB11
and who knows what else I'll put in/on.
I'm @ roughly $770 so I'll have to back off for a while!

Have you tried installing Windows 7, is almost as fast as XP and looks way better . I bought a netbook that came with XP presintalled, so I gave Win 7 a shot and it boots a little faster and have better support for touchpanel LCD.

Nice setup and we will wait for the pics!

Do you remember how much disk space it took up after all the ridiculous updates? If it's any thing like Vista I will have to wait until I have a bigger HDD. I don't want 20gig' of OS on a 32gig HDD. Too many possible OS problems down the line.

Plus the expense :-(
Don't want to fork up more $$ for that. LOL...
I've used up most of my bonus already and still haven't purchase X-mas gifts! ha!

That sure sounds nice but I don't think I am geek enough to tackle a project like that. I admire you guys that "dig in"! A pictorial would be nice!

as soon as I get a chance I will post some pix.
To tell you guys the honest to god truth I was most encouraged to start this project because of this forum. i noticed some one else had done this (carputer is not a new concept) and thought I'd try it.

The hardest part I will face is wiring (?) and trying to make that 8.9" look snazzy enough on the dash. Still haven't used any of those bondo or fiberglass kits which I'm really worried about. Mainly cause of the Carbon Fiber Dash Kit my Nitro has, which I cut out some last night and a tear came out of my eye. :-(

Looks nice, do the LCD have enough brightness for a sunny drive?.

About the Win7 it about 11Gs the installation with all the updates already applied. There are a lot of tools that help you compress the installation removing services and components that you don't require, I have seen many for Vista and XP, but I'm sure there is one for Win7.

Did a quick search and on a forum some guy says this
"I have already done it. Its a 1.2GB iso and took 4.6GB installation space." among other things.

Maybe you could give it a try, and remember, since you are not going to be online try to get a pre-activated copy of windows

Good look with the project, keep us updated!!!!.

5 gig's is pretty awesome for Windows 7! only other problem is $$.

I was inside and the screen looked perfect
I think it will be o.k. outside but I have not tested yet.

If you are looking for a monitor like this, you guys can look this guy up.
Look for seller "tft-lcd" on eBay or
item: LP089WS01 TOUCH SCREEN 8.9"

The guy Duayn was very helpful on information for this LCD!
Seemed very knowledgeable with this equipment!
He also has a website. not sure if I can post it?

sorry so dark, I was inside and the lighting was just bad.
The carbon fiber was cut at the bottom .
