The late 08 & 09+ years did not come with the metal rails from the factory.
Some of the Amazon cross bars come with the rails included. See https://www.nitroforumz.com/threads/mopar-82205174-roof-rack-crossbars.43288/#post-282360
In order to install the metal rails into the plastic channels you need to snap off the small plastic spacer under each cap nut.
@Nitrogen If you remove your metal rails you will have to add a spacer.
