aside from re-wiring, is there an easy way to change the front 12v outlet from switched to unswitched?

I needed an additional 12V Plug so I just put a new one in and under the passenger seat (it powers my 2 Meter ham radio and my cell phone booser.

I can also plug a strip into it for the long trips so the kids can plug their personal DVD players into it and leave the A/C inverter plug alone for me to use.

One good thing about not having the DVD system in my SXT is that the kids all want to watch something different anyways.

When you mean switched you are referring to it being on an accessory (just working with the key) versus on all the time?

Cool, that worked great. Now I can charge the cell phone as needed. If I remember correctly, the fuse is M7. epper:

Cool setup. The M7 fuse can be installed so the outlet is switched or unswitched with the ignition key. Your choice.
