Now a word from the man himself!
First and foremost, I want to say that I love my Nitro! This truck is the most fun of any vehicle I have ever driven or owned before. My selection as the “Nitro of the Month” winner means a great deal to me. I am relatively new here, compared to the previous winners who were all forum founders, this recognition of my contribution to the forum and of my beautiful blue Nitro, is a great honour.
Last year, when I began to research vehicles that I might want to purchase, I was looking at the Dodge Dakota pickup. I do woodworking and need to carry lumber and such periodically and wanted the storage and hauling capabilities that a truck has. After a time, I starting thinking that maybe a Magnum would be cool to own and drive. It has some of the same hauling capabilities, with the seats folded down. That was the prevailing vehicle in my search until I saw my first Nitro ad on TV. That was all I needed to know, it was love at first sight! I had to have a Nitro!
Over the winter months, I researched what options and colour I wanted. By this time it was March 2007 and I placed my order. I had to wait 3 months and two days before delivery! The MyGiG system and the leather heated seats held up my order at the time, and talking with members on this forum helped ease my pain. It was agonizing towards the end as I had found this forum and began to interact with the members and read about what they had to say about their Nitro’s. I saw all the cool modifications they were doing and I was amazed at how (some of them) were within my meager automotive capability.
With the help of many very friendly and eager to help members, I was able to get some of my mods completed with professional results. I thank everyone who has helped me learn more about trucks than I ever thought I would. I’m still learning new things daily!
The members here are all very helpful and supportive of each other and it makes it a great place to hang out and make new friends. I especially enjoy the orange vs blue “feud”, the colour competition, carputer, and engine mods threads very much! Sometimes, I am sitting at my computer laughing so hard, I can’t control myself. When some of the members have picked up on the Waldorf reference and posted pictures of the heckling old Muppet in the balcony!
I enjoy talking with members from other parts of the world and seeing their Nitro photos in interesting places. Remember the Alamo! I also enjoy learning things about other places and about how the Nitro was introduced and packaged for other countries.
I want to thank each and every one of you who voted for me. I know I’ve already sent PM’s to each of you to thank you, but I have another opportunity here!
