Hi everyone, I had an earlier post about the power inverter install, and this is a question for after the install... So the story, I pulled a power inverter from a junk yard Nitro, and all the wiring for it all the way up to the fuse box. I installed it all in my own Nitro which did not come with the inverter installed or the harness. Turned the car on and no issues, no check eng light or other fail code.

Now here is the problem, the switch under the HVAC dose not light up when pushed, I plugged my Ilink400 into the cars OBD2 port and went into the Central Gateway, and under Test Options, I was able to select the inverter toggle button and manually turn on the inverter from the Ilink400, I checked the output voltage with a multi meter and I'm getting 116v AC current when manually turned on. I go into another screen where I can see info from the cars computer system, and under inverter, when I push the button under the HVAC, it is showing that I toggled it, however its only for a brief second and then it turns back off.

So the question is, dose anyone know for sure if this is an option that must be enabled by the dealership? My Ilink400 lets me add new modules such as the rear screen, steering wheel hand controls and the satellite communication, but I have no option to manually enable the inverter. My thoughts are that this is something that must be programmed or flashed into the cars computer saying "hey I'm here, use me" type thing. However its still puzzling because I can manually turn it on with the ilink400. Any help or thoughts would be awesome!

I do also have a K2 cable which lets me flash the ECU, but before I try going down that road and potentially turning my ECU into a brick, or paying a dealership hundreds of dollars only to be told it cant be done, I thought I'd come here first. Thank you all!

I thought I might be missing something as well however do you think that would be the case if the ilink400 detects that I'm toggling the switch under the HVAC unit? And I can manually turn it on with that same scanner and it work and provide 116v AC?

I only had three wires to connect to the harenss connectors, two that when to the unit attached to the fuse box and one that went under the dash harness near the hood relase handle. Would there be any additional wires that I might have missed from the junk yard car? Maybe an extra cable from the control panel to somewhere else? Just weird it detects that I'm toggling the switch.
