First off, welcome to the forum. When you get a chance, head on over to the "Newbie Forum", so that we can give you a proper welcoming.

I would be looking at the condition of the spark plugs and making sure they are in good shape. You do not mention how many miles your vehicle has but this could be an issue. Only use OEM plugs as the 3.7L engine is very finicky.

The plugs in the 3.7L should be changed every 30,000 miles or so. Therefore, your could be due for a swap. It is a cheap and easy place to start if nothing else.
Just stick with the stock copper plugs as the 3.7 does not like platinum or other types of plugs.

They can only pull codes if the CEL is on. Being that your plugs are overdue for replacement i would say there is a good chance they are loosing performance. They are not totally dead so thats why they could only cause a problem periodically.j
