Ok, ran into a couple of questions once I got my MyGIG system installed:

1. When looking at the hard drive information in the system, it indicated that there was only 8 GB of space free. I know the system comes with a 20 GB HDD, but is there really 12 GB of overhead of everything else?

2. I got the NAV stuff setup, but I map my house, I see an arrow on a blue background, there's no map. Is there some sort of callibration that needs to occur? The system detected at least 4 satellites so I figured that would be enough to determine location. I was also able to enter my address so the data is on the drive, I just don't have any maps on any of the screens. The antenna is run up through the top of the dash and sitting in the small area on top above the radio.

3. Are there any updates available? The manual talks about going to http://www.chrysler.com/mygig for software updates, but that takes me to Chrysler's home page. Is that not up and going yet because the system is so new?

So far I can say that this thing rocks! Now it's just a matter of working out the details!

I was able to get the maps working. I just needed to drive around a bit for the system to recognize my location. All is well with the maps.

Regarding the disk space, that is insane, but I guess not too bad. There's no way that I've got 8 GB of music so it should all fit just fine along with a few photos.

The radio was not factory installed. I purchased it on eBay and had it shipped to my house. Installation was a breeze since the connectors were all the same. It works like a charm!

congrats on getting your MyGig installed. I would like to see it some time, when are you coming up to get out of that heat and smog? :Na_Na_Na_Na:

I guess I could come down the mountain too, but only if I hold my breath.

Glad to hear that all is working well now. You will be happy that the maps are on the hard drive, as I have heard that the nav systems that use DVD's for the map info are slow and don't recalculate as well if you miss a turn.

Definitely! I've been wanting to hit up Big Bear for quite sometime. I spent a good portion of my childhood at a YMCA camp up there right off of Boulder Bay. I'm in Highland so the smog isn't too bad as compared to Fontana or Rialto, but I still prefer the clean air up around 8000 feet!

The MyGIG system is awesome! I'm having a bit of trouble getting photos transferred, but the music copying works like a charm. The maps are great. Now all I need is Uconnect so I can get my phone connected!

Heya, I saw you also purchased a MyGig off eBay which is exactly what I did. Who did you get yours from? Was it Mr. CD1? The first one I got from him was damaged, but he replaced it with a new one. Unforunately I have not been able to get UConnect to work with either of these units. It worked with my old 6-disc changer, but the new units won't recognize the microphone. Its like its waiting for me to talk , but can't hear me. Its really frustrating. I take it from your last post, that you didnt have UConnect in your Nitro to begin with?

I'd be really interested to hear if you ever got it working. I really want my UConnect back! Other than that, the MyGig works fine.

Hi I m from belgium,I ve bought a mygig rew on ebay
but when I ve instal it,the unit ask me to introduce a 4 digits # that i haven't receive.
In belgium the dealer says that he can't have it
what can I do?
