I still have the paper temporary license hanging in my rear window...picking up the plates any day. Problem is, I've noticed the adhesive from the paper license isn't going to give up very easy and is leaving a long strip on the inside of my rear window. My concern is damaging the defroster wires if I try to remove it. Does anyone know of a mild adhesive solvent that won't damage anything?

Try either oderless paint thinnner (mineral spirits) or ethanol---depending on the nature of the adhesive one of these will take it off and is mild enough not to hurt anything.

I agree w/ several of the answers below....baby/mineral oil, goo gone and wd40, just don't saturate the area, try a q-tip...it will take some time, but that is what I would do and you guys know how picky and ocd I am....lol. good luck!
