I've been looking to replace the OEM stereo in my SXT with an aftermarket head unit. the internet site I'm looking says that the Nitro "has no accessory power lead at the receiver. The integration adapter provides the accessory power you will need for your new receiver" and they recommend a PAC's C2R-CHY2 adapter for $129.00. I don't understand why this is needed and they don't say clearly. If I am not driving any other accesories from the radio, why it is needed (I won't use esterior amps). Any ideas?

First off that is a good photo and I am stilling it. Ok you need the PAC controller to get your switched turn on for you after market deck the stock nitro radio is Can controlled and turns on with a digital signal that your aftermarket deck does not understand. Second this is how you keep your door dinger it originally come throw the driver speaker and this adapter puts the dinger in the dash.

yes it is required or you wont hear your music through your brand spankin new radio. in other words: new radio : $300, pac controller: $129, clean music to listen to in your nitro as you fly down the street: priceless. you can run that wire but you will be replacing more than just a wire or a headunit, prob end up frying the computer system!!
