I ordered my air Horn today.

I'll let you all know how things turn out once I get this unit in my hands.

I have one in My Suburban, but I could not find room for the trumpets anywhere near the grill in the Nitro.

I ordered this nice little self contained unit which has 1 bolt mounting and a built-in compressor:

i have my factory horn still on my nitro and then i got 2 air horns installed on it with a seperate push button switch. one of the air horns is like the one above, it's labeled as a "bad boy" horn and it is self containing(on the container it says to be twice as loud as a factory horn), the other was a cheap trumpet air horn with a mini compressor and it had a sound of one of those portable air horns that you would bring to a football game. i didn't like the trumpet air horn too much so i installed another "bad boy" air horn in its place.

the bad thing, where they are installed, well inside the engine compartment they are loud but when the hood is down which is the way i have it while driving, Ha,Ha, they are not loud at all. the place that you mentioned on installing your air horn is in tight quarters but it would work. my intentions are to either install a grille guard and or light bar and have them installed on them. as for the loudness, i would rather get a different trumpet air horn. i'll post another answer to this thread when i find the air horn that i may purchase. kinda expensive.......around $280.00.

I was hoping to have the time to install my horn and driving lights this weekend, but I some domestic projects took priority.

Yes my horn is the Bad Boy horn. For a real big rig sound, you will need a horn with a 12-14" metal trumpet. If you look carefully you should be able to find a dual 12/14" air horn with compressor for under $ 100.00. I have a dual 12" 14" air horn in my Suburban, but even in a full size truck it is very hard to find a mouning location under the hood. I could have mounted them pointing downward, but I wanted more sound.

I ended up mounting them under the truck inside the frame. I looked all over the Nitro and I could not find a suitable location for big trumpets.
I figured that the bad boy horn was a reasonable compromise.

Haha, those are cool horns. I mounted one of those on my sportbike. It's funny to see how fast a car get's back in their lane if they start merging over:D. It is true that it must be mounted in an unobstructed area for the loudness to be effective (like behind the grill). Here is where I got mine and they have a little play icon with a sound clip. http://www.bikerhiway.com/index.php...oducts_id=74&gclid=CL-I8vfN-Y8CFQIUPAodiQdILQ

I inststalled my Bad Boy air horn a couple of weeks ago. I am still experimenting with final mounting positions, so I left extra wire to move it around.

At this point I mounted it inside the heat shield for my K&N CAI and this seems to work well.

The air chamber seems to "focus" the sound out the front grill.

Now that this seems to work, I will take some pics and post along with a video clip so that you all can hear the sound.

I added the air horn to the existing horns. The resultant sound is not pure air horn, but it is very loud and distinctive.
