Hey Sapper
Where did you get the resistor your talking about?
And how does it install?
i actually got mine from ebay for 8.89 from cyclone engineering it looks like a fuse protector with paper clips coming out each side u disconnect ur battery then your IAT its stuck on ur intake hose then u do the thing parents tell kids never do!!!!!lol u put both side in each hole use electrical tape to seel it off i will post a pic soon i put the MOD on at night so couldnt take pics

Thanks for the photos, it really helps the thinking process. For some reason, I thought the resistor went into the connector and it got plugged back onto the AIT sensor to add resistance. This actually takes the AIT sensor out of the circuit altogether. With the chip/resistor the AIT signal will be constant and make the computer think that the air charge is always cold.

I did not realize that the IAT is removed when I first looked at this post (I only looked at the thumnails and did not pick that up.

As I menioned on the other post on this topic, we need to determine a few things to understand how this mod works.

As a start:

1. What is the resitance value (in ohms) of this resistor
2. What is the temp vs resistance curve of the Nitro IAT
3. What decisions does the Nitro ECM take based on the above resistance volume.

One thing is clear: DO NOT COMBINE AN IAT MOD WITH A JET CHIP OR ECM REPROGRAM. If you combine two devices designed to change mixture and/or timing--- you are likely to push things too far out of spec. The results will be unpredictable.

Ken, I believe the chip they use for the Nitro is 3300 ohms.
It the nitro IAT is similar to the GM one, this would place the temp around 60 deg F.

If so this might cause a little bit harder starting to those of us who live in cold climates. The engine may need a bit richer mixture to fire up if the outside temp is below freezing. For those members, it might be good to have a "winter/summer switch in case it seems hard to start. This switch would put the stock IAT back in line when in the "winter" mode.

well its just like germany it gets below freezing everymorning and warms up during the day but if that would be a problem then simple fix is take it out during winter re-install during summer kinda like i do 4 my rims:))
