I'm anxiously awaiting to hear if volant will be releasing a cold air intake for the 3.7L nitro and liberty.

Does anyone know if this is in the works? I just can't seem to justify spending the cash on a HOT air intake from K&N, even though they claim 10HP.

Does anyone know what type of HP we can expect from Volant's version?

Or is this going to be FAR in the future?

mdwcalif and myself are in the process of being fitted with the prototype intakes as we speak for both the 3.7 and 4.0 engines. We are both awaiting the phone call to go back to Volant for the finished product! Believe me, as soon as we hear something we will let you all know! And plenty of pictures will be posted! Be patient! We are expecting something early next month!!:D

I'm thrilled to see your interest, Adonis! My frustration at the design of the not-cold air intakes available is what set me up perfectly to want the Volant prototype. Heck I was trying to get help from people to build a completely custom intake when somebody (I think it was SRT4) spotted the fact that Volant was looking for Nitros for prototype measurements.

The Volant design, which you must know something about Adonis because of your interest in Volant as the manufacturer, definitely goes a long way to be at least COOL air compared to others.

The Volant guys measured my 4.0L engine first, and dubbed the prototype "the Octopus" -- it had an airbox and THREE intake pipes (short ram, long ram, and factory). Then after they measured the 3.7L and figured out a way to unify the design of the box, I do think they're going down to only 2 intake pipes - short ram and factory. But the huge increase over factory over intake air flow, plus the dedication to getting all air from outside the firewall, is going to make a vast improvement over stock, and, I'm hoping, over the other available intake designs.

BlueJet and I are really INTO this. Can't wait!

Of course, I drive a liberty, so I am assuming that they will be compatible. (keeping my fingers crossed!)

Someone should mention the similarity of the two vehicles to them, and hopefully get a test fit on the liberty. If it fits, or if they could make it fit, it would be much more profitable for them because they would have one intake that would work with three vehicles.

I emailed Daniel at Volant asking him this question. I expect an answer early next week 'cause I might have to call him. For some reason my emails go into his Spam folder so he has to hunt for them -- that's WRONG, eh?
