I love my Nitro, but dont really love my factory SXT mid and high speakers...I have been doing some research on new subs today and looking at my nitro to see how i could get 1 or 2 subs (10" or 12") in there without losing any of my current cargo space because it really comes in handy....
and I though of a great idea, well i think it is, you can tell me different if you feel that why, i am open to all opinions and comments.

Have you ever seen the TV series that played about a year ago called Big and Rob? He had a blacked out SUV and I noticed in 1 episode that he had (from what I could tell) 2 kicker square subs installed in his rear cargo door. It looked great and didnt take up any extra cargo space.

www.crutchfield.com has some new shallow subs with great reviews (check them out here)

You could install the amp on the right side of the SXTs where you have the dip in the side.

here is the link of the subs I was looking at installing...

they have many other shallow subs...

let me know what you guys think about this idea....I appreciate all comments and opinions..thanks

.8 cu foot is a small enclosure. Instead of mounting the amp to the wall, I would mount the sub there. Build a custom enclosure for that area to bring it out flush with the bottom of that panel. I think BlueJet had it done on hers professionally. I have done many of these types of enclosures in the past. I hope you like fiberglass. :)

There is a lot of prep and waiting to be done to get it right but it will come out good if you spend the time.

.8 is enough depending

.8 cubic ft. of air space is enough if you are just using some 8 inch subs or some 10 inch subs that will be sealed. You can bring a system to life if its done correctly. I agree the right rear side would be the better place because of the added weight on the lift gate and its shocks. Plus the shock to the screws or bolts every time its closed. One 10 or even a 12 on the right side in about 1.25 cubic ft. can be obtained and kick the crap out of you with enough power. The amp can always be mounted on a board on the back of one of the rear seats or even under the tray in the cargo area. There are endless ways, just make sure its what you will be happy with.:wavey:

The .8 cu foot was in regard to the required spec on the speakers that he was looking at for a 12" sub in a sealed enclosure. If space is an issue you certainly would not want a ported enclosure.
