I am pricing some parts at a local junkyard,,,,my question is...can you negotiate the prices with them? I have never bought parts from a junkyard and so I am unfamiliar with the "normal" way to negotiate pricing with them. Thanks in advance for any and all info!

Many, many moons ago you could, unless it was an odd part, I had to pay 25 dollars for a U bolt for my 66 Bonneville back in 72 (The stupid gas station I went to to get a leaking differential seal replaced didn't heat one they took off the U joint and broke it so I had to go get one, no dealer had it)

not down here any more, they are like all sophisticated and computerized now....used to be able to "u pull it" for 25 bucks or so.

Yeah they have a recycling network with pre-determined prices and everything. They might throw you a discount but don't count on it.
