Audio Input Buzz

When I hook up my MP3 player to the audio input jack I get a buzz sound and the right speakers are inop, unless I shake the input cable a bit I changed the cable from my MP3 player out and still the same problem. Anyone else had this problem, and if so did the dealer have to order new stereo, or just fix the defective one?

Hey Dusty,

I'm having a similar issue currently with my portable player (Sirius S50) and my car radio (The standard RES model - No Sirius/DVD). I don't lose the speakers, but I am getting the buzzing. It just seems like the connector doesn't properly fit into the aux jack on the front of the radio, and if it moves out of alignment just slightly it starts buzzing. I haven't had time to take my vehicle in to tell them about this (and the other issues I'm having), so I've just been using the FM transmitter built into the Sirius radio..

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but at least you're not alone. :beerchug:
Your right, at least im not alone. I'll add it to my list of things, like the trans jerking between 35-55. They didn't fix it the first time gonna try again this week.lol

Buzz happens to me too - but only when my portable XM is charging. when I am on internal battery, it sounds great. I suspect its a bad ground in the accessory connection.
I get the same thing with my iPod, but only when it is charging also. If it's just running on its own power, it sounds fine. I bought a belkin charger, that has an audio out with its own preamp in it, the overall sound is better with it, but the buzz is very annoying. If anyone finds out a solution, I'd be happy to learn about it.
