Auto Trans Issues

Does anyone else notice that the auto trans seems to have a hard time finding the right gear sometimes? It feel as though (when decelerating) that it almost skips a gear and makes the change feel a lot harsher.

The only transmission issue I have experienced (not sure its a problem) is going from 1st to 2nd gear...it feels weird to me but im not sure if anythings wrong...it feels like it takes a little to change gears...it seems the faster im going when i hit 2nd gear the lesser I notice it...im going to get the dealer to check it out nexttime either way
Certainly keep us posted. I'm not really looking forward to more Dodge transmission problems. My Ram has had them since I got her. Not sure if it's true or not, but it seems every tranny guy I talk to always says Dodge is famous for transmission problems.
Isnt the trans in the RT a mercedes unit? If it is it should be bulletproof.
I agree with the statement that Will made. If you are in a parking lot and driving slowly, it stays in first until you are going probably a little too fast for parking lot driving in front of stores. However , starting from a stop light or pulling onto the main road........there is no problem......This baby goes.............
Glad im not the only one..its by no mean a problem i think..its just how the transmission works and you got to get use to it :)

See... I notice it in "stop and go" traffic, just like driving in a parking lot. It's really annoying as I drive in traffic, both to and from work every day.

May not be a problem at first, but what about after 30,000 miles of harsh shifts? That's when my ram started having all the problems. Went from hard shifts, to clunks that snapped your head back. I've probably got almost 3 grand in transmission repairs in 6 years and 140,000 mi. Different tranny guys too, I switched in case it was faulty workmanship, but they cant ALL be bad!
