I'm looking to buy headers and I'm going to purchase a new exhaust as well. That brings me to my question. Does anybody have any experience with either The Borla or Magnaflow exhaust systems? Can anybody compare \ contrast them? I'm trying to decide which might be better.

Thanks in advance.

Borla/MagnaFlow

What I can find about these systems.

Borla is more expensive at $700.00 direct from mfg., MagnaFlow $542.69 direct from mfg.

You should be able to purchase either for less through a dealer.

Both are stainless steel.

Borla looks better. The oval tip looks sweet, IMO.

Borla:

MagnaFlow:

I have had Borla mufflers before on other vehicles. They tend to be fairly quiet. If you look at the picture, you can see this is a longer muffler. Longer mufflers have a tendency to be more quiet than short mufflers. MagnaFlow is commonly louder than Borla. However, neither of these mufflers is going to be anywhere near as loud as FlowMaster mufflers. If you want quieter and no droning sound ever, even on full throttle passes, then either of these mufflers will make you happy. The stats for the MagnaFlow are compelling. Both of these systems will provide better throttle response. They both will provide free flow exhaust. If you are in the market for one of these systems, you should probably make a decision on looks and what your wallet can support.

This is about all I got. I thought some members had the MagnaFlow installed. They need to come forward and comment here.

I installed a set of Borla mufflers on one of my other vehicles. Top notch quality products! I would absolutely recommend their products.

I've used both in old applications and simply can't speak highly enough of either.

When looking at systems for the nitro, I ended up with magnaflow (on the way to my house now).

I found an obscene deal with hottexhaust dot com - 395 to my door shipped with taxes for the nitro magnaflow kit so I took it.

should be stainless steel in construction, flow through muffler full single cat back system. A gent here said it will work for the R/T so for a pre made kit which I know will be top notch I figured I couldn't go wrong with it at that price. I did like th elook of the borla one better but I wasn't sure if it would fit, and it was lots more $$

Waldorf, look at post #5, this thread, bottom pix. The MagnaFlow kit is a muffler, pipe, tip and two clamps. This replaces the stock items and re-uses the factory hangers.
DOH! I missed that post completely, I don't know how as I try to read everything on the forum. I have so much to learn! Thanks Tim!

The borla muffler may look longer and therefore you might assume more restrictive, But this is not the case, I have been using borla systems on my vehicles, performance and non performance applications, Borla is a more free flow design than the others. Whats in the muffler design is whats important, not the length. How much more H/P is probably very minor in comparison.
I always liked the sound and the construction quality of Borla exhausts.
