Hey everyone - Nice to be on board.

Just took possession of my new 2008 Nitro R/T ( or should I say my wife did )
last Monday. As the kids say: " It's SWEET! "
Boy was that short lived. This Monday its in the shop! Brake issue!

Flat spot, then a small clunk is noticed as brakes are initiated! Tech's to replace master cylinder, etc. They seem to know there are issues out there already with this vehicle and are very eager to solve my problems.

Hope to get it back shortly - miss the " SWEET " ride.

Welcome to the forumz!! You're kids have got it right, it is sweet! Sorry to hear you're having problems with the brakes. I have not heard of issues with the master cylinders. Anyways, there are known issues, but most have been resolved. Lots of information here to take in so enjoy yourself and get involved. :)

brakes

This may be nothing major, but I think they have had so many issues already, and many still outstanding, that they are trying even harder to correct the problems. You know - too many problems means lost sales.
In my case they are just going to change a few parts ( one at a time ) in the hopes of fixing the issue.

Yea, the stalling issue that plagued many Nitro owners for months was extremely discouraging. There is still an ongoing transmission issue, hopefully this will be resolved soon. It's really too bad when a new vehicle is plagued with build quality issues. As an owner it sometimes hard to feel like your getting ahead of the problem, and often feel you're overcome with them. The happy new ownership feeling quickly fades.

It sounds like you've got a knowledgeable dealer on your side. Hopefully, just a little bump in the road and you'll have your new Nitro back.

Thank for the friendly greeting NitroTech, Waldorf and dk1677.
This looks like its going to be a very informative site and I hope to make many aquaintances.
Just hope my wife doesn't get to upset - One can really spend a lot of time on this site. But then again I'll just tell her I'm only diong it for "her" Nitro.

Hey Waldorf, canadianlimey - would have joined you but saw the message too late.
Next time for sure! I'm origanally from St. Catharines so Hamilton would be good too. Take the vehicle for a nice boot.
too bad you couldn't join us. we had a great visit, caught up on mods and toured limey's tool&die shop and had a few beers! If you ever travel up towards Hamilton, let me know!

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear about the brakes, but I am sure you will get things worked out.

You'll love this little truck.

Look no further on the internet, this is the place where people are friendly and the knowledge is rich.

This is especially true if you are planning any engine or body mods.

Ken
