I just put in an order for the Chrome Tubular Side Steps. Has anyone had any experience installing these.

Can I install these myself or should I book an appointment with the dealer???

Thanks

Havent installed/seen them on the Nitro but Ive installed them on a couple other vehicles and its really not a hard install, but just have at least one more person to help, 3 would be a good number for the install :) But if it were me, id defintely install it - for the satisfaction, quality, and saving a bunch of $$ aint bad either :D
I installed the Black Tubular ones on my Nitro. Took me about 35 minutes doing it myself. All you need is a 10mm socket, screwdriver and I cannot remember the other size socket. But it was way simple and the instuctions Dodge gives you are easy to follow.
Thank you both for your help!!!!
Yes it is a pretty easy install, an extra set of hands makes it real simple.:pepper:, and they make the Nitro look sharp, simple but very effective mod.

I just installed my black rails a few nights ago. Me, some work lights, my dog and about 45 minutes was all that it took. It just proves that it can be done in the dark in 35 degree weather.:pepper:
Aftermarket Parts

Were can i buy aftermarket part like the nerf bars or running boards.
I put mine put on a couple of days ago and must say that they look great!!! When I purchased them the dealer said that they would install them. I asked how much and they told me it was a couple hours labor.  Said I would look into and if I needed help I would call. It took me about 35 minutes and they were on!!!! :p :p :p Believe me, if I can do the install then any moron can!!! Everything is pre drilled including the Nitro's frame ... just bolt them on!!!

Installed the chrome gas cover too!!! Looks sharp!!! :ura1: :ura1:

Easy 1 person job. Need a couple of mm sockets.
40 minute install.
Any pictures? love to see some. Cant decide to go chrome or flat black on my red nitro. All the chrome runners i see on the road look dirty from road wear.
handsomestranger, where did you buy your nitro? I have a red SLT I bought in Georgetown but came from dealer in Salisbury, have had some problems with it, when did you get years. I live in Long Neck DE

Wow, it's really that easy? I've been wanting to get some chrome for mine, but didn't want to pay the dealer to do it. After hearing you guys, I think I can handle the install. Thanks.
