Chrysler Extended Warranty

I am at the point where I need to decide if I am going to purchase Chrysler's extended warranty. I have about 28,000 miles and drive about 20,000 miles a year. I usually keep my vehicles about four years or about 80,000 miles. So far I have not experienced any breakdowns or needed any warranty coverage yet. The only problem was the two recalls. This has been one of the most trouble free vehicles I have ever owned. My fear is after the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty expires (should be before the end of this year) I will have some trouble. It is more a feeling than fact and just the way my luck seems to go.

My question is what would you do in this situation? Would you spend the money on the extended warranty or chance it?

Thanx!

I am just going to use their lifetime warranty. Didn't any of you get that program. The first 36,000 they cover everything and after that it covers the whole powertrain - engine, trans, drivetrain, etc. All the big stuff that would cost a h e double hockey sticks of a lot to replace.
I'm with you Cowboy. The dealer offered to make the lifetime warranty a full bumper-to-bumper for around $3,000. I have purchased the extended warranties on previous cars just to cover major stuff such as the tranny or engine.

I figured that since they were already covered under the lifetime warranty, I could save the $3,000 and use if for those smaller things that might come up.

I have also found that the extended warranties tend to have more things they don't cover and what they actually do cover. :D
