Test drove 2 nitros 3.7L (no 4x4) with clunks

Could it be the CV Joints?

Just heard the sound clip and it sounds VERY similar to when i drove them.

Symptoms happened while starting to drive at low speeds, while in traffic driving straight and also accelerating and turning.

Felt the sound coming from the front under driver side and slightly felt in on the foot in the gas pedal barely but i felt the strong sounding metallic knocking/clunk

After picking up a bit of speed like after 15-20mph and highway speeed straight driving it sound went away and felt smooth.

Was not felt parked at idle or accelerating.

My clunk ended up being either the end links, or sway bar bushings. I'm not really sure which, because I changed them all at the same time. My clunk was usually heard most while turning sharp slowly, or pulling in or out of my driveway.

Just got off the phone with the seller of the second nitro i tested.

He said he has had the sound for years (only owner). And that is a sound coming from the 3.7L motor and that this sound is normal on them & that it only sounds when initiating run in low speed and after that it's gone. He said their mechanic stated that is common & normal on them.

So I am interested in buying it for $1,800. I told him i want to take the nitro to a specialized jeep mechanic shop to check it out in which he agreed on.

If he was lying he wouldn't agreed to do this, he is a senior and he is a pretty serious person.. So maybe it's the truth or his mechanic isn't really telling him the whole story.

Does any nitro users out therehave motor sound at low speed or initiating run!? 🤔🤔🤔

Having owned mine for some 11/12 years I’ve encountered a wide range of sound effects similar to a heavy metal band rehearsal session.

squeaks, clicks, bumps, bangs are all part of owning the Nitro as far as mine goes 😂

I had a CV joint go recently the noise is not what you describe. Typically a regular metallic clicking when turning, not in a straight line. My front right hand outer CV was totally shot. Replaced both left and right now as good as new.
