Dear Sir,
Please be advised that we we have made a misprint in our information.
The 2.0L diesel engine is not available for the Nitro. Only the 2.8L VM Engine.
We will not be making a performance kit for the 2.8L engine.
Thank you for your understanding.
Best regards,

I think a 2.8L oil burner would be pretty neat myself. wish they had it over here.
Nitro CRD on the german Dodge-Website!

Thank you for the latest informations!!!

On the german Dodge-Website the Nitro is announced!!:ura1:

Have a look at www.dodge.de

:Banana01: It will definetly be the 2.8 L VM-Motori!!!:pepper:

There are already some pictures with the CRD-Sign on the reardoor!

Strange is that the pictures show a SXT with colored bumbers - maybe we will get some different models around Europe! Time will tell. The Nitro starts in Summer and will be my new car!! Can't wait anymore:Racing: !

Best wishes from Germany,
Mike

Meanwile I've found out how the the differnt nitro models are named!

There will be a SE - this will be the same as the SXT in the U.S
above this there will be a SXT - this will be the same as the SLT
and there will be a R/T and this will be the same as your R/T in the United States.

Why the different models have other names in good old Europe?
Only God and maybe Dr. Z knows!! But some say that God and Dr. Z are just one person!

Engines will be the 4.0 and the 2.8 CRD! The 3.7 will not be offered.
Are the prices already out for the Nitro in Europe?

Regards,
Roland
The question is, if you are still "Fricken' droolin'" after we have learned that the Nitro will probably be priced much higher in Europe than in the US. This is, of course, only an assumption of mine and I hope that it will be prooven wrong. I guess we will have to wait for the answer until the Geneva auto show.

Regards,
Roland
You guys across the pond have ALL the oil burning options. We can only dream and pray that some day, the powers that be will offer us some of those options.
In belgium a pricelist is available:

A Dodge Nitro 2,8 CRD SXT (SLT) Automatic transmission will cost 32.300 €.
MyGig 2.600 €.

URL -> http://www.dodge-nitro.be/downloads/Dodge_Nitro_NL.pdf (Language is dutch!).
A Dodge Nitro 2,8 CRD SXT (SLT) Automatic transmission will cost 32.300 €.

EUR 32300 for an SLT with the Diesel Engine corresponds to US$ 42060!

EUR 2600 for MyGig translates into US$ 3390!:i_rolleyes:

With these pricing, I guess, it would make sense importing a Nitro from the US on your own, although it could not be equipped with a diesel engine.

Regards,
Roland

Ive done some measuring and it looks like i can install a 3.9 cummins in a nitro or even in my buddys 2005 liberty. ive run the numbers as well the cummins is a little heavier but can pull more power and get better fuel efficency. My friend just put one in his 2003 ram 1500 quad cab and that dam thing has some balls on it and is not too loud but sounds strong and pulls like hell. I think it will be a bad ass liberty the only one with a cummins.
