My Nitro is in the shop for an oil change and safety inspection. The dealer reccomended that the Diff. fluid should be changed. They wanted $259.99 to do so, is this price reasonable? From what I understand the local jiffy lubes charge signifigantly less. Of course I would want the dealer to do it but I also don't want to pay too much. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I just got mine changed last Saturday. Both axles came to $215.00 after tax at the dealership I bought it from. I called another dealership nearby to compare and they were at about $250.00 so I don't think your quote is unreasonable.

WOW
The dealers should be shot. The gasket should be about $14 and two bottles of diff fluid maybe another $20 plus $75 for labor and disposal for the half hour of work per diff would be closer to right.

These dealers are nuts. I'll change my own thanks.

How many miles are on your Nitro that they are recommending the change of your differential fluid? My Mitsubishi Montero maybe had the differential fluid changed one time in 250,000 miles.
