Guess I'm selling my Nitro SLT...After about 5 months of ownership I'm very upset and disturbed by the quality of materials and the lack of owner support I got from the selling dealer (Pueblo Dodge in Pueblo Co.) and the lack of support from Dodge/Chrysler when I called their 800-992-1997 customer support #. As previously stated on an earlier post, the Chrome grill and rear hatch chrome have been penetrated by rust and is really discolored and just plain corroded. This is after just a partial winter normal driving. When it snows that black melty road crap has made short work of Dodges bright chrome pieces. 6 weeks ago the service manager tried to polish it out and it would not work. so he said it would be replaced under warranty. I went back 6 weeks later (today) for installation and he now states that it is not under warranty because the corrosion is from the stuff they put on the roads. He said I was the first to complain and now A LOT OF NITROS ARE SHOWING UP WITH THIS DEFECTIVE PLATING DAMAGE. They (Dodge) are claiming this is not a defect, but caused by "environmental" conditions. I stated THIS IS COLORADO and this is normal driving conditions and the chrome they use should be able to easily endure normal crap and crud we encounter and will continue to encounter that is out of our control. It is defective if it cannot withstand this normal driving condition...This is why I bought the Nitro in the first place, for driving safely in winter conditions. Wow what is this grill going to look like after next winter? This is a new car! I washed it as often as I possibly could.
Second prob, (Long tale short) I've had a vibration in the drivetrain since new, brought to dealers attention he drove it, acknowledged it and stated this is normal, just the torque converter kicking in.....no warranty on that.. I'm bummed, very dissapointed in Dodge and the service I did not get.. I'm going back to an import vehicle that does have the quality and service I expect, and have experienced in the past... Dodge, you Bummed me out and lost me as a customer..No More.
