Do you think the Nitro adds are effective enough to entice buyers?

Advertisments I have seen for the Nitro are Just Plain Silly! Whats the message?

I love this vehicle, It has so many great attributes...
Why don't the "add people" pickup and go with that!

Consumers just aren't getting the message... saying, "Nitro? What's a Nitro?"

Advertising is Expensive, all the more reason to get the message out!

Does anyone agree with me?

As I have said in another post the commercials are not showing the plus side of the Nitro. In fact there are a lot of commercials for a lot of products that don't focus on the product. Crazy people doing the adds and even crazier accepting them..............David
I agree with Boattech

The ad people should focus on the functionality of the Nitro. The audio remote controls are great and the garage door opener actually works.
There are so many car commercials out there they are trying to make the Nitro standout and have a "tough" statement which a lot of people want. 905 of people start looking at certain cars by their looks and that is what these commercials are trying to d- get the users to say 'hey that loosk neat' and start researching it, come to these forums - see that its a good solid full-featured vehicle..Beleive it or not, things like audio controls and garage door openers are pretty standard now adays..Even $14,000 scions have these...The commercials are meant to get attention andlead to people looking into them and I think they do a good job of that :)

There are 2 ways to advertise a product. 1) to stress the virtues or pratical use of the product or 2) Do something funny or memorable so the the person viewing the ad may not know what it does but will remember its name. I think that they went with the latter. Not sure how sucessful the "falling thru the Earth" ad is, but I think the "jumper" ad is. I have heard people comment about it.
But wheres the Buzz?

I'd like to see a $14000 Scion Pull a 5,000 Lb. Trailer!
Now that would be memorable! LOL!

I think a blend diffrent types of comercials and a Lot Of 'em would do the trick. Of corse, these adds must be seen Often too.
The jump one is ok,but the other two that I have seen would not build any intrest in my mind to want a Nitro or have any intrest. Then again I had already decided I was getting one before they even had a commercial.
You have a point, I had my Nitro SLT two weeks before I seen an add.
But, After seeing two of them they weren't as enticing as the vehicle itslef.
Real vehicles dont need ads..Dont see adds for vipers, lamborghinis, range rovers, etc :ylsuper:
No Range Rover ads? I see ads for Range Rovers all the time. And they are equally as dumb as the ads I've been seeing for the Nitro.

not here...the exception is the nitro is a first year model so it needs some commercials to get it out there....

A major plus side of the nitro is its unique and standaone looks...and that is what dodge is hitting at bigtime...The optional features are NOT that unique to the nitro as you can get them on most other vehicles too...The Load n Go is the main unique feature along w/ several others and its not that big of a selling point..Most people will love the looks of the nitro and then the features available will seal the deal.

Perhaps they just don't believe that a Texan would ever buy something from a limey!

huh? whats a limey?
I believe he is referring to those persons who reside in England.

If thats true - im really confused now
Ahhh, the product of a poor mis-spent youth!

Just kidding. People from England are called Limeys (a derogatory term) because, back in the olden days, even before my time, England had the greatest Navy in the world. Problem with being on a ship for a long time, is often nutrition wasn't the greatest and scurvey was a common result.

When they figured out that lack of Vitamin C was the main cause of scurvey, England started having their sailors suck on....you guessed it, limes.

I imagine the prase was coined by sailors from other countries who thought it looked rather foolish. Probably those damned frogs, errr....French. But that's a story for another day.

I am in TOTAL AGREEMENT! I understand what many are saying... that the Nitro can stand on its own... and it can. But the whole point of advertizing isn't just to get you to remember a name. It's to get you to like, to relate to, that name or brand. Image is everything. I agree with you. All but the jumper cable ad are childish. They make you think they're selling some little kid's toy truck. It's almost a cartoon. A SMOKIN' HOT, TOUGH SUV WITH AN ATTITUDE... WITH FEATURES GALORE ... that's what image this vehical should be cultivating. Heck the name is NITRO! I went by the my dealer an they gave me a cardboard cut out. It's made to look like a hazmat emblem on a big rig. It has the outline of the nitro and says NITRO 07. They had them on the windshields at the auto show. See the local dealers get it. Tough... explosive! If the budget doesn't run out I have to believe the national campaign can do better.
