Hello I’m collin & have a 2008 dodge nitro. roughly 208k miles no problems running really still sounds great and has gotten me everywhere i need to be.

I plan on taking a 3000+ mile road trip here in a few months , (1500 there and 1500 back home) I was looking for advice. Would you trust to drive that car all the way there and back, have any high mileage nitros with feedback from personal long trips ? please let me know what y’all think

I have 142 and getting ready to do my training filter and put a new pan on because they come with the drain plug
Are you going to be doing any kind of "flushing", or do you just plan on doing a pan drain and refill?

I'm thinking about doing a flush/drain and refill, as I just got my Nitro, with 150k miles, and I don't know what the previous owner has done.

I think a FULL POWER FLUSH of the coolant from a garage is best. That will hopefully, clean out any gunk in the heater core.
I was talking more about the transmission. The previous owner to me said that he had replaced the radiator, and I think the overflow reservoir, so I'm thinking it might have pretty fresh coolant in it. I don't know anything about the transmission service history though.
