I did a search and didn't see anything about this. Original article can be found on Autoblog.com.

Roughly 85,000 2007 Dodge Nitros are being recalled for a windshield wiper issue. Use of the delay settings could lead to the wiper not working at all in any setting. The recall is expected to begin this month, and dealers will repair the wiper mechanism and software for free.

Look up Recalls for your DODGE NITRO HERE!

Here's a useful link to look up all the recalls required for your VIN number: http://www.dodge.com/en/owners/ :wavey:

Just type in the last 8-digits and click one of: USA/Canada//Mexico... and you're in.

Sorry, no similar link on the Dodge-UK site...

Joe - On that link, under your Vehicle Description information, was there a statement in red print that states No Incomplete Recalls or Customer Satisfaction Notifications Exist ? I also have a 2007, and know that all recalls have been performed on it, and thats the statement that shows when I enter my VIN....
Hope this info helps.

I had seen this recall notice and went to my dealership to see when they might be notifying me to bring in the Nitro as its a 2007. He looked up the recalls for my VIN number and it shows there are no current recalls that have not been performed. I wonder why that particular problem would be VIN Number specific as I would believe that Chrysler used the same supplier for the wiper motors in all the 2007 Nitros. I am keeping my ears open on this one. Have had no wiper problems yet, but actually am somewhat sceptical of Chrysler given their current delimma.

I havent heard about a recall ,but im not surprised,my nitro wipers would quit working in the middle of a rain storm for no reason. The dealer changed the TIPM module and problem solved
Yeah, we had that problem also. It was pretty spooky, as it happened several times on long trips.

It looks like this recall has become effective as of 1-30-10, even though I haven't received anything in the mail yet. My dealer left a message trying to drum up business, and it shows now on the Dodge website, where you put in your vin.

Received my recall notice yesterday. No biggie as mine never failed however will still be taking it in.

I have a list of things that need to be addressed before my warranty runs out. I guess it will be a case of showing that list, then for them to choose which I items that they will address under warranty, drop the Nitro off for a whole week then collect her LOL. Then consider getting an extended warranty.

The Recall

Just got my recall letter in the mail. "The windsheild wipers on your vehicle may become inoperative under certain operating conditions. This can impair the driver's vision and cause a cause a crash without warning"

Typed exactly....yes the cause a cause a typo was in my letter.
