Yep well the housing season was non-existant but my dealership expediter bizz has been holding it's own( I sell realestate and own a remote starter bizz). The bad part is that at the end of FEB. my wife had to have emergency surgery then during the summer my son had to visit the emergency room for stitches. Then just about a month ago I was in a horrible accident while working on a vehicle. It was an old Silverado pick up with electrical issues. I had to drop the column down to get to the brake switch to test a circuit for the cruise control. As I was under the dash, I had to turn the ignition on to see what this one wire was going to do. As I did that here in was in reverse and the truck started. I tried to put my hand on the brake but it grabbed my right foot before I could do that. It threw me on my back and road all the way up my body going up my leg, over my hip and across my right side of my chest and shoulder.

Luckily I only ended up with 7 broken ribs, a bruised lung, and a kidney pushed up under my rib cage. I'm actually feeling decent these days but the medical bills are really hurting. We've got insurance and actually very good insurance but the doctors are taking us for a ride. Even though all 3 of us went to hospitals in our "network" some of the doctors that treated us are billing us outside of the hospital. So, they are being considered out of network and are balence billing us. So far we are up to about $8k that doctors are demanding we pay up right now. I don't have that kind of money. I'm sure it'll land on our credit history as well too even though we are trying to set up payments. It's just a sad thing because I sold my car in hopes of finding that right Nitro but I don't plan on that happening anytime soon:shakehead:

Wow,

I hardly know what to say except that my prayers are with you and your wife.

Thank god you are alive and can see your wife and son for years to come.

I know it is easy for somone outside of your situation to say this, but this will pass and your life will go forward.

Hang in there my friend.

Please feel free to stay in touch here, as one day you will have a Nitro if you want it that much.

In the meantime, keep in mind, though we are all strangers to you, there are many compassionate hearts out here in cyberspace.

Poncho,
you posted your story a little while ago, but this is more detailed. I'm sorry about your health issues with your family. I'm glad I'm in Canada, in that respect, as we don't get monster medical bills, we just get monster tax bills.

stay in touch buddy, as Ken said, we are strangers but you are family here!

No problem. Thanks guys. I know things could have been worse and will only get better. Right now I have to deal with this guy that lives behind where my accident happened. The truck I was working on then backed into a 22 year old pop up camper. The guy is demanding I give him $500 of which I don't have. I told him that I'd line up everything and have all the repairs done needed to make it right. He said he didn't want it fixed but just the money!!! Now he's going after the insurance even though I told him not to. All of the other damage to his stuff and the truck was minimal to the point I didn't make a claim. So who knows now what'll happen. :(

Thanks guys. Yeah medical coverage here in the states really sucks. What's worse is that I broker out insurance policies. Yes, I am a licensed agent and I even get screwed. The thing I can't figure out is how you can go to a "in network" hospital in the emergency department only to get treated by doctors that are not in the network. Sounds like those over paid monkeys at the Capital should pass one of those wonderfull bills to correct this matter. I'm sure it's far from their minds since public officials get free healthcare.

Hey ponchonutty ... I'm really sorry to hear that you are going thru this. I feel your pain. I had a really bad accident about 3 years ago, and like Ken was saying, it's a real good thing that you and your family are alive and (somewhat) well. It took me over 4 months to fully recover from my physical injuries, and over a year to recover from the BS that came along with it. Hang in there ... life will deal you a better set of cards .. just keep playing the game ...
