I recently purchase the Nitro with the towing package. Now what I need to know is what do I need to do to install an electric brake controller? What else do I need to purchase besides the controller itself? Is this something that I can do myself? Will I need to splice into the vehicle wiring or is there an adapter that I can use? Where do I find the wires connected to the 7-pin electrical connector for the brake connection (I assume it is already up in under the dash somewhere)? I need all the information (step by step) you guys can provide. Then I will make my decision if I can do this myself or bring it to some garage?

In the factory harness I just installed there is a single BLUE wire that goes through the firewall. In the diagram I got it looks like they wrap it up & secure it to the left of the steering column somewhere. You should also have a seperate groung & power w/inline fuse attached directly to the battery.I'm not sure if the factory connects those 2 wires or leaves them wrapped up near the battery until you need them.

i hooked up a protogy brake controller

you need to hook to the wire tucked under the kick panel (this is the wire that goes to the trailer pin connector in the back)
you need to run a posative and negative wire from the battery (as in the directions from my controller) these wires are not supplied by dodge you have to supply them
then you need to tap into the wire on the brake light switch at the brake pedal to tell the controller when you are braking (their are 5 or 6 wires at the brake switch if you have cruise control) (if i remember correct) you need to get your test light and probe to find which wire is hot when you push the brake pedal

your brake controller should now have power and energize when you push the brake pedal
