Enable/disable a couple of things you say... by any chance, would one of those things be video in motion, or remove the start-up warning screen? 
Engineering Mode for Mygig
I found out that if you hold down "Menu" and the two seek buttons at the same time you will enter an Engineer Menu. Pretty intersting. You can check software versions, update software, enable/disable a couple of things, run hdd check, etc.
So far I don't need to do anything with it, but interesting to see that it is there.
To exit the menu, press the same buttons.
Hopefully we'll get some updates from Chyrsler soon!

The MyGIG manual gives a URL for updates (which isn't yet active: www.chrysler.com/mygig. Rumor is that it will be September-ish).
My guess/hope is that updates will be downloadable and applied via USB or CD.
