Hey dk
Thanks buddy, disconnecting the battery (10 minutes) did not reset the light but what is more important to me is what triggered this event. I guess I am headed to the dealer in the morning. Will let everyone know the outcome.

3.7, automatic, 5545 miles, have had brake and stalling recalls done.

Yes, I read in the manual what it had to offer about the multiple restarts and going over 30 MPH.....tried doing half a dozen and driving above 30MPH each time, it didn't reset. The brakes seem fine but.......

Well, this morning we climbed into our Nitro and started it up. I like to let it run for a bit just to "get things going".....anyway, the ESP/BAS light was still on as well as the icon of the ESP denoting it's on/off position. I pushed the ESP panel button and the icon went out, leaving just the letters lighted up. While sitting there I pushed the brake pedal down a few times just to see if there was anything weird going on and it seemed normal. And by that, I mean the brakes didn't seem to "pump up". Anyway, off we went and as soon as I got over 30 mph the light shut off! It never came back on. I will still call the SM and get his opinion and if I should take it in or what. :wavey:

added info: OK, I talked to the Service Manager and was told that unless the lights are on there is no error code stored for the event. Also, it appears the system has recovered itself from an error state. In other words, unless the lights come back on don't worry about it........

I had a phase with my ESP/BAS light this past summer. Apparently I'm a crazy driver and spin my tires all the time!! haha The light reset itself all the time - usually if I shut the car off and let it sit for a while then the next time I came out and started driving it would shut off. When I called the dealer about it, they just said that it comes on because the tires are spinning - but that was so not the case! Oh well! Hasn't happened for a while now.
