I'm not sure I this has been addressed, I looked around but couldn't find anything about on the forums. I'm in Germany and just got a US mygig, I have to say I'm not so in need of the US maps and more than likey wont be for a few years. Does anyone know if you can get European maps load into it also, I know the HD space is limited so I dont think I can have both of them at once. Any help would be great.

I was planning to get a US Mygig as well to use over here in Italy so I am also trying to find European street maps to load to the HDD. Also I couldn't find any info at all about the DVD player being US region or multi-region, or if it supports Pal video signal.
Sapper RT did you try playing a Europen DVD in it?

If there is some way to copy them out of the unit, I could give you latest EU maps (mine is just month old and dealer said maps were updated Nov 2006.

This is very nice form you!!
So far it is believed an integral copy of the HDD is the most straight forward solution. Maps occupy the large majority of the 12 gb anyway, so copying only them would not be save much space.
2 problems:
-nobody has come up with a secure and tested procedure to copy the HDD, but it is a matter of time, we just have to wait;
-we need to find a virtual space where to upload and share the copied HDD, maybe a newsgroup or something like that? I am sure we will find something when it is the time….

I speak for Italy, they are quite useless...

They just say there is no way and you had to order the European version of Mygig together with the car.
