Just finished giving my Nitro it's first waxing and noticed this defect on the front edge of the drivers side door near the bottom:mad: I'm surprised I never noticed it before, guess wax removal introduces you to every square inch close up.

Has anyone else had this bumpy paint/body defect on their Nitros? I could probably live with the appearance, but now I'm concerned with the area being vulnerable to rust.:shakehead:

WOW! I'm surprised you hadn't seen that before, it doesn't look good! Like CL said, take it back to the dealer for repair!

Triple the recommendation to get it back to your dealer. Since you live in Colorado - I'd definitely have that done before you are dealing with the chemicals used on your area's icy roads. I've had dealers try to nudge me off on stuff like this - that they deem as cosmetic, but be persistent - your new vehicle should NOT be showing that kind of defect and it could well turn into a good portion of your lower door rusting off - not good at all........good luck!

Thank to all for your replies and advice. We're still surprised that we never noticed it before. It looks like little weld bumps (some on inside of door) and maybe before the paint chipped off a little it went unnoticed. We looked at our first pics on the computer and couldn't really see it on photos, when we zoom in it was too blurred to see:i_rolleyes:

maybe you just touched on the real culprit! maybe it was weld spits that went through and the paint and clearcoat covered it, but in time, with washing and vibration from the road, maybe it loosened. who know, but get it fixed!
