It can be number of things. Bad high-pressure pump or its metering valve. Faulty rail pressure sensor or rail pressure regulator valve and air in fuel system. Injectors are rearly the cause, my injectors leaked so bad, that fuel level raised 3 litres in 50 kilometers and still no pressure problem. Does your car start? If it doesn't then, as I said in other thread, you should disconnect metering valve, pressure sensor or pressure regulator one-by-one. If it still doesn't start, then your high pressure pump is faulty or pressure regulator valve is stuck open or air in system.

I've been working on cars for over 15 years your problem is your heater core is clogged change your heater core fix your problem
Heater core? It has nothing to do with this.

Cylinder 1? Bank 1 on Bosch EDC16 refers to left bank. Since this is inline-4 engine, it only has 1 bank.

The fuel rail pressure solenoid (lower and left, circled in red) is not a serviceable item. If that is the cause, the rail assembly needs to be replace. Same for the The fuel rail pressure sensor located at the other end of the rail.
The above is from the SM.
At 1600 bar (23,206 psi), I'm not sure I would take a risk jerry rigging it.

The fuel quantity solenoid is replaceable and is located on the rear of the high pressure pump.
The above is also from the SM.

But Jan has some good points as far as trouble shooting this.
So keep on keeping on! ?

Actually, the fuel pressure solenoid is replaceable contrary to the service manual. Bosch part number 0 281 002 507.
I may have time later today to test how the car reacts with different parts disconnected.

Also, when there is small leak in the fuel system (sucks air when engine is off) the engine may not start. Usually cycling ingnition on-off a few times helps to start, because in-tank pump bleeds the system.

If you have a 68000898AA fuel rail. Which does have a replaceable fuel rail pressure solenoid part # 05159964AA This was used in the 06-07 KJ liberty 2.8 CRD it should work.( I say "should" because I have not cross referenced the Bosch # and the above #)
The 07-08 KK Nitro uses a 68027607AA fuel rail, which has a fuel rail pressure solenoid that deforms the metal in the fuel rail in order to seal it. In 09 Nitro the number changed to 68031572AA which uses the same design as the 07-08.
Now I'm not saying it isn't possible to retrofit the replacement you mention. But it is not something I would do.
It's better to have to much info with all the options out there, then not enough IMO that's all.

Read some bosch materials. This valve is normally open, which means without voltage the car will not start- no point of disconnecting it. So best way to check it is to check voltage when ignition on/cranking.

starting at 6 minutes.

Just noticed a fuel leak, injectors sitting in a layer of fuel ?
