Hello all.

I recently took a test drive of an '08 Nitro SXT 4X4... loved it. Up where I live there's plenty of snow and ice on the roads and it was a nice change from the FWD car I have currently.

I just today got an invite in the mail to come down to the dealer for their big sale as they are offering US pricing to us Canadians. I did a quick build on www.dodge.com to see what a comparable rig is to what I tested on the weekend. I got somewhere around $25,300 for the auto (which is what I want). This is about $4000 less than the same build on www.dodge.ca so it sounds like a pretty good deal. I was wondering what you other americans paid for your rigs. I want to make sure when I go to the sale that they aren't going to be fleecing me.

Love the site, been lurking for a while now but decided that I might as well ask the experts their thoughts...

I am in the same situation as you. I currently have one price out for $21,200. It is a brand new 2007 4x4 SXT, 17" wheels, running boards, tow package and automatic transmission. Does this sound like a good deal?

Also I forgot to mention is has the SXT appearance package with body color matched fenders and moldings... Its Black.

Yeah nothing crazy. just the 4x4, auto, stereo with sirrus. Pretty much base model. I don't need a lot of options as i like the truck, not creature comforts.
I can always add on performance stuff later.
I'm not adverse to picking up an 07 either i just don't know what kind of stock they're gonna have left. i know they had a green manual 4X2 for 20k but that's definitely not what i want.

Iamhemi. Are you sure it was a green one? Or could it have been a light khaki? They don't make green ones as far as I know. You might be able to get an '07 off their lot and get an even better price. Depends on how fast they're moving in your area and how many they have on the lot. Good luck.

I have to admit I didn't do a very good search if i didn't see that thread. I appreciate it. Lots of different prices so basically what I gather is I shouldn't be paying more than 22k for the SXT auto. I think there's some rebates going on for the '07 if I remember what the salesman said so hopefully I can get what I want

JersyNitro: I think the "green" one was maybe the "modern blue" color in the sun. It almost looked like an Army green to me... def wasn't Khaki though. To be honest I testdrove so many different vehicles that day that it could have been a Jeep Patriot that was green for all i know

Thanks I'll cross my fingers. I have a feeling that there's going to be extra costs as why would they give us such a great deal? We're used to paying thousands more for the same vehicle up here. For some reason as soon as a vehicle crosses the border it becomes way more valuable :\
If i do get it, i will make this site my home... that's for sure.

Well thought I'd update y'all in case you care.

I walked in the dealer and talked to the salesman. He let me know pretty much point blank that the US pricing "sale" was merely a gimick to get you into the dealer. They were NOT matching US pricing, they were offering rebates and incentives that would be "comparable" to US pricing. Well if that was the case then why was the Nitro SXT that I was looking at 26,500 before taxes etc. Pretty shady on Dodge's behalf. In their defence they did offer a $2500 rebate on that 26,000 and 3 months free payments but that still doesn't compare to true US pricing.

So this is a bit of a sore spot but i really want the truck so i'm gonna private sell my current ride and put whatever I make on it I'll put down on the Nitro.
