I didn't really care for the plastic molding but it never really bothered me either. The SLT 4WD 6spd didn't have cruise control and the R/T didn't come in 6spd manual when I bought mine so the SXT was the choice.
Anyway, some off-roading knocked one of the body moldings off and it appeared to be just held in place with some flimsy plastic rivots

A couple of those rivots broke completely out of the plastic so I drilled and secured the molding with 5/16" bolts on the bottom. The top portion is still secured with rivots but they are of different design and I'm hoping those bolts make it much harder for it to come off.
I understand they wanted to offer a generally good looking trim and better looking trim as a price point but... this is just silly.
