My 2007 Nitro SLT has developed a front end noise that only shows up while turning fairly hard to the right. At first it was a light rubbing noise & I looked for a stick stuck somewhere, or something loose, but couldn't find anything. After a few days the noise started lasting for a short while after I stopped turning. Again I looked for something stuck or loose to be causing the noise, but no luck. This morning I accelerated sort of hard while turning right & the noise suddenly became more of a grinding noise while turning & a mechanical whine while driving. Sounds like an old gear driven transfer case in 4 low. It stops after a minute, but comes back as soon as I turn to the right again. Can anyone tell me what my issue might be? Or at least point me to a previous thread that already covered this problem?
