Heres a cool web site for converting US mpg to UK mpg
http://www.onlineconversion.com/fuel_consumption.htm
Mine is the diesel Nitro and im getting on a run according to the computer about 32 mpg US this converts to 38 mpg UK.

US gallon =3.7 litres
UK gallon =4.5 litres

I must say for a suv this aint bad:smileup:
Great info Nitrouk, I have a 33 showing on the computer and I am pleased with that, convert it and its even better. :rep:

Hi Nitro Uk,

Just about to take delivery of a diesel Nitro in manual format. How long you had your Nitro, manual I would expect and what do you think of it?

Looks have attracted me to one and the keen lease rates just now.

I've only ever seen one on the road in Scotland, so I sure I'm going to get a few looks in my black sxt model shortly.

That's strange, you'd think they'd have a UK gallon option instead of the US gallon.
maybe it's because the world has standardized on litres outside the US and the UK. I guess the UK market is so small (for their cars) they didn't bother to add that as a choice. :(

Excellent choice Scottish. Right colour and right model.

I have had mine, the same as yours, since Dec 07 and I am really pleased with it. It drives well, is very comfortable on long runs of 450/500 miles and I can manage that on one tank of diesel.

Cruises really well at 85 and still returns an indicated 29 mpg (on board computer) this converts to almost 35 mpg converted to UK gallons. See NitroUK's thread with converter(www.onlineconversion/fuel_consumption.htm)

I think for a big lump that is excellent. Cruise at the national speed limit and you'll return 38's.

As for looks, the car is not that common and it WILL attract attention.

Enjoy. Unlucky result for the Scots Rugby yesterday.

Hi Scotish Nitro

my mate stealthmeister has the same as you in black manual(best get a big wash bucket) and i know hes pleased with his. mine is the auto and i cant fault it, loads of torque and good acceleration.
I have seen a few around my way now but i think they might of been the demo from my local dealer, its quite funny looking at peoples faces when they drive by with there mouths open.

Do your computers show MPG in UK or US figures???
Hi, my last Grandvoyager also only displayed L/100 km or US mpg. The New Zealand Nitro also displays the same.

Odd how specifications and options differ from market to market. Our NZ spec vehicles were all 4 speed auto with the 3.7 l petrol, 5 speed auto with the CRD. We got SXT and R/T models with the same mechanicals, Aussei got SLT and SXT models only .

We didn't get manuals at all. :wavey:

I had requested this option to read Imperial miles per gallon when I first got the Nitro.
Answer a flat out NO.
Come on Chrysler it is only a computer a small program change?

After its 1st week (only 240 miles on the clock), mines averaged 22.5 US MPG.
About 27 MPG UK. Thats not bad !.

Thats more than my Saab 9000 Aero 2.3 T gets.
Hey, 22.5mpg/US ain't bad at all!!!

What kind of driving? Highway? Local? Combination?

This week i have been concentrating on running in my V6 Nitro.
Using 98 Octane Shell V-Power, i have been using 2nd gear hold alot, and running High RPM (Max 5000rpm) under low load.
I have to say shes freeing up nicely. It goes really well for a vehicle of its size.

Fuel consumption has suffered this week @ 15.5mpg US !.
But then again i have been flooring it alot.
