Greetings,
I just bought a 2008 Nitro SXT/3.7 today, and for the very first time to fill it up from 3/4 of a tank to full, gas keep shooting out as if it was full but it was not. I then removed the nozzle from the filler neck and had to "baby feed" 8 gallons of gas into the tank until it was actually full. I figure a vent tube is clogged? Any ideas? Thanks!

here is a thread about it, used to be very common but not heard about it in a while, guess most owners got it fixed by the dealer,

did that on my wife's 300c. Well..sort of. Instead of shooting out, it just clicked off (pump handle that is) constantly. Had to replace the charcoal canister.

It does that to on my nitro, but only when it gets near full.

My 2010 does this, but only when completely full. Now, when it gets near full, I cut the fuel flow down quite a bit, and it doesn't shoot out when it shuts the fuel off.

I thought this was supposed to be fixed well before 2010? Could mine qualify for the extended warranty?

it was free for early Nitro's, later models had the upgraded parts at production,
they used to say we will fix it when you bring the car in for its next full service, so at least they get some money out of you,
