I finally got my Nitro. White 2008 sxt 2wd and I love it. I was wondering about the radio. It stays on even when I open the door. The radio in my camaro continues to play for about ten minutes or until the door is open. But I went back about an hour later to get something out of my Nitro and the radio was still playing. I haven't had time to read manual or even play with my new toy cause I have been baby sitting today. I have only driven it from dealership home. About 35 miles. Any one know about radio? Thanks in advance for any help. I probably won't have a chance to check back until tomorrow cause I am going to bed now and I am cleaning houses tomorrow. Thanks.

Welcome to the Forumz......and Good Morning Sleepy Head.......

The radio will play even after the ignition is turned off, until you open the door. It shouldn't play after that. If it does, thats a new one on me......

Someone here will diagnoses it, if it does, I am sure.....:)

Welcome and hope the radio gets straightened out. Have you tried hitting it? If you have I am out of ideas. I think I read something about that before and I think Techoveride has you on the right track. Welcome again and don't be a stranger.

Sorry, I'm new to this posting

Sorry, I was looking in wrong discussion group for my post. I shoud have been looking in the newbie group. I did figure out that if you take keys out the radio will stop playing. I love my Nitro. I have been waiting for three years for my new car. Was going to get a Liberty until my husband saw a Nitro on dealership lot in Oklahoma(he works in oilfield there) and shot me a picture via phone and said "How about one of these?". I was hooked. It sure is a head turner especially in a small town like we are from. I live down a rough dirt road and am concerned with the hood. I have never seen a hood vibrate like this one does on a dirt road. Oh well, I still can't believe I finally have my Nitro. Thanks for all the welcomes.Seems like a nice place to visit. Take care. Oh, and please disregard my other post. Was feeling like I wasn't wanted here I guess. Poor, poor little me.HAHA. CAM

More greetings to you and welcome! It's true what everyone else is saying -- this is a great place to be! I've already met new friends here, and have gotten information and support every which-way. Glad you figured out the radio issue! I used to live on a dirt road myself, and were you doing what I used to do? ... leaving your keys in the ignition? Those were the days!

I know what you mean too about the hood vibration. There are ways to further secure your hood, and there is information about that on posts around here somewhere -- I dunno, back in Georgia I tried to talk them into paving my road, but that didn't work.

Thanks for the nice welcomes

Hi everyone.. Sorry I don't post much but I just don't get on puter like I used to. I am really enjoying my Nitro. It was so worth the wait. W ish it got better gas mileage but I will just slow my driving down to compensate for it. The only modifications I am thinking about if you can call it mods is I would like to have chrome wheels. I did put some of those little mirror things on the mirrors so I can see if there is a car coming up on my side when I need to change lanes. Really helps in Ft. Worth and Abilene. Especially Ft. Worth. I hate going there but sometimes I have to. Well, Happy Fathers Day to all you dads out there. I think I am going to get in the pool. It is really hot here in this part of Texas. Hot and dry.:)
