Maybe its just me, but I find the horn takes quite a bit of pressure to get to honk. Its almost if not impossible to get a short friendly "beep-beep" out of it. I just get one loud blast. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a location on the wheel where its easier to honk? I haven't experimented around with this admittedly. I know not a big deal, but its kinda honking me off! LOL

I've only had my Nitro for about a month now, and I'm still not used to the horn location. I find myself hitting the Freakin "Compass" button!

I am with you guys. It is hard as hell to honk! I was wondering if it was just me. But i guess not. I am going to fool around with it some and see if there is somewhere easier.

Mine isn't hard to honk, it just seems like a delayed reaction after pushing on it.

A lot of pressure and a delay. I just wondered if it was just mine. Its like it has to think about it before it works. Is this situation honk worthy? Sorta Seinfeld-esque. Not a big deal. Guess I'll just wave from now on.

Yeah I have the same problem.. I dont even bother to try to honk it anymore.
In all my other cars the horn area was just a thin plastic/leather piece and was real easy.. Not this!

I haven't noticed a problem here. This past Saturday some numbskull almost clipped my right/front end while I was driving. I laid on my horn and it seemed to work just fine. Course, I'm sure I whacked it pretty good, he scared the crap outta me. :SHOCKED:

A delay seems like the normal. Its almost like the wireless gas pedal. Electronic control. Does it seem we are losing the direct touch in new vehicles? Sometimes the old school methods are better!!!!!!

LOL! Same feeling here. I told my wife that it's 'honk by wire'.

I think you may be pressing in the wrong area. The best place to press is NOT where the horn symbols are. This isn't like other vehicles where there is a little switch under the horn symbol. With this one, the whole airbag cover moves. The easiest place to press is above the Dodge symbol with your palm.

Slow horn

My Liberty you could lightly tap the center (or anywhere else for that matter) of the horn/airbag. This just seems to take excessive pressure, no matter where you do it. When I need it I don't have time look for little the symbols to press. I just had a lady in a Cadillac back up without looking in front of me and she was almost in my bumper before the horn sounded. I don't like it.

yup! im with yall on this one too! i try to blow sometimes at ppl and never get to cause ill hit it once in the wrong spot! but i have figured out u have to hit it rite directly at the top in the middle or at top on right or left side to get it to blow.. and press hard! lol...and no can't get a friendly beep!! very hard!!..lol

I dunno, my horn seems to work well :Racing:. I came home the other day and my fiancee was doing laundry... i drove up the car behind her and beeped the horn in a friendly way just to be an a$$. It worked... scared the bejeezus out of her hehe.. she got me back later tho' . But ya, i just tapped it and my horn gave a little beep beep :Na_Na_Na_Na:
