working on a 2010 dodge nitro - head gaskets
This is the passenger side head. This is an oil passage that appears to be busted. Has some jagged edges. I’ve never done one on these vehicles so I don’t know what it should look like. The last two pictures are the oil passage on the block. This sits directly below that hole in the head.
Is this normal???
Please help!

no that is not normal, head or block castings broken is always cause for concern, not saying they can't be reused them but would certainly try to find out the cause, did you find the broken pieces ?, what issue did the engine have before removing the heads ?,

The original cause for concern was misfire, low compression, coolant loss, etc.
No I did not find any metal pcs.
Only found this

its hard to say for sure but the edges of the busted holes look black as if they have been there for a long time,
have you had problems before with the engine, did you find issues with the head gaskets ?.

Yes head gasket was bad on passenger head. I’m replacing both. It’s just been running rough for approx 6 months. Had misfire on cylinder 2 and 4. Replaced all plugs and coil packs with wires. Didn’t fix it. Did compression checks and they where terrible. I had approx 90 psi when it should be 200 maybe 220. Cylinder spark plug 2 had a little green tint. I diagnosed head gasket. Then I found this massive blow out. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
