welcome to the forum! how far North are you in NWT? you said the winter is "crude" up there, but do you get 6 months of night, then six months of day? you aren't THAT far North, are you? I'm from one of the farthest south parts of Canada and I grew up in Windsor, which is actually South of Detroit. One of the few places in Canada that can say that.
