Hi, Am not an owner yet, but am seriously considering this vehicle as I truly love what it has to offer (and more importantly, my girlfriend likes it too :) ).

The others in my short list are the Santa Fe, Outlander (and possibly a MAzda5 :shy: ).

I think my main hurdle is that its a Dodge and everyone I know tells me to avoid that Brand. I'm also reading people having issues but it does seem Dodge is standing by their brand and fixing these issues.

Anyway, just thought id say Hi, im learning tons from this forum and glad I found it.

Hey dazed, no one will force you to buy the coolest mid-sized SUV on the planet. You'll have to decide to do that for yourself. Good luck. You have found the most inclusive site on the net and with enough info., you're sure to make the right decision.

Hey fellow Canadian, just remember that Dodge makes the #1 selling minivan of all time, so they really can't be that can they?
Yes you've probably read about the 80,000 recalls for stalling but did you know that the top Japanese automaker also recalled about the same amount of vehicles for the same reason. I know because I made the stamping die to produce a part that will stop water from going directly into the air intake and killing the engine when it's driven through puddles.
So be different and go for a Nitro.
I did and I don't regret it, same for all the other happy Nitro owners too.

Thanks for the responses, hopefully ill test drive soon and then either buy an 07 closer to when the 08s are released or just wait for the 08s which hopefully have a few of the issues people reported sorted out by then.

I'm just going through the feature list now and deciding whats a must have (like sunroof and tow package) and what would be nice to have but can be dropped if too expensive (like MyGig).

Regards

Here's a quick suggestion ... don't buy a Nitro.
UNLESS, you really like a very distinctive ride.
UNLESS, you like a truck that has the coolest curb appeal going.
UNLESS you don't really care what your GF thinks ... maybe she's OK with a minivan?
UNLESS you really haven't caught on that I'm a sarcastic SOB that loves everything about his Nitro!
(Just go buy one!)

Nitros Rule!

I think my main hurdle is that its a Dodge and everyone I know tells me to avoid that Brand.
The people who tell you that are frightened: They are concerned that you will buy a Nitro and have something considerably cooler than what they drive!

I bought my Nitro R/T on February 5, and I have had no issues whatever with it. It rides very comfortably, is a pleasure to drive, gets good gas mileage, is impressively responsive, and is an incredible attention-getting vehicle.
