Hi everyone. Picked up our red SX CRD about three weeks ago, love it and piling on the miles already!! Don't see many Nitros out here, in fact ours is the only one we've seen on the road. It certainly creates a bit of interest and talk!! The Diesel pulls like a train, what a cracker of an engine.

I've noticed from the great pictures on the site that a lot of you blokes have had the steering wheel fitted on the wrong side. I'd be taking it back for a chat with the dealer.!!!:chuckle:

Welcome to the site and congrats on your new Nitro. We do not have that engine available here in the states. My son just returned from two weeks in England and said that driving on the wrong side of the road takes some getting used to. Best of luck with your Nitro, post a picture of your incorrectly mounted steering wheel when you get a chance.

welcome to the forum stig! I don't know aboot you, but that's a funny place for the steering wheel! How am I suppose to drive with the wheel in front of the passenger? that's not very good practice, me thinks! :Na_Na_Na_Na:

Upside down and back to front!!

Yeah, it's a bit of a worry when the passenger has better access to the handbrake than the driver. The indicators and wiper controls are the same as for left hand drive, so we've spent the first couple of weeks setting the wipers off when going around a corner. Or flashing the headlights to wash the windscreen!!!:chuckle:

My first experience with Australia roads was weird ... not because the cars were on the wrong side of the road, but because cars were coming at us WITH NO DRIVERS!!!

Welcome, Stig!!!

CRD engined Nitro

The CRD intercooled turbo is a great engine, tons of torque, a bit like driving an old fashioned V8 with all that grunt way down low. (Doesen't quite sound like a V8 though!!!) At 100km/h (60 mph) she's just tickin' over at 2000 rpm. We get the 5 speed Mercedes sourced tiptronic auto with them over here too. Sips lightly on the go go juice too. Very nice.

Just got to remember to go to the Diesel pump and NOT the gasoline pump at the servo. :Racing:
