I am happy to say that I have found myself a new home. I have been in search for the "perfect vehicle" for some time now and just happened to stumble up on the Dodge Nitro....... I have never looked back! I know exactly what I want and plan to get it within the next two weeks. This vehicle is the perfect expression of my personality. It looks like me, it drives like me, and has a few issues, just like me............. :D But you till love it.....


What advise would you give me when purchasing this vehicle?

As you can see the people here are friendly!!! There is plenty of info in the other parts of this board, have a look around. Yes, the Nitro has some glitches but is sure is fun to drive and VERY unique!!

Hey there Mictro, welcome to the friendliest Nitro forum out there. So what model do you plan on buying nd in what color?

My only advice would be to go well prepared. Don't let them talk you into buying what you don't need. Oh yeh and go for the 6 sp manual box...:smileup:

Welcome to the forum.

I don't know what advice I can give you as you seem to have picked out the Nitro you want.

The only advice I have is to order from the factory if you want to personalize you Nitro as much as possible.

Don't let the dealer talk you into options and gimicks you don't need just to sell you something off the lot.

Shop multiple dealers. Check back with this forum for feedback on a dealer before you buy.

I can second this advice. I have the 6-speed and am very happy with my choice. Unfortunately, the stick is only available in the SXT. This is OK for me but not for others.

FYI you can opt for painted fenders in the SXT if you don't like the gray ones.

Research some car buying tips. I went in with a few printed online window stickers from other dealers with options I was interested in. When it came time to negotiate I whipped them out (the window stickers) and it automatically gave me a few thousand dollars to work with. When you get your Nitro I want to see a picture comparison with you and it.:Na_Na_Na_Na:

Wow, thank you all for the luv and advise I really appreciate it. I have been researching the Nitro for about a week now and stumbled across this website, glad I did. I have yet to decide what color I want to go with and if I want to get the manual or 6 speed. The biggest problem I've read about seem to be the transmission in the '07's has that been fixed for '08?

I have an 08 and have had no problems with the transmission. I wanted one last year but decided to wait until the second model year so they could get the kinks out.. Oh and by the way, blue is best :Na_Na_Na_Na: (either shade)
