I have been away from the forum too long, and did a search, but didn't find much in the way of explanations...

What are the following: Freegig, Bluegig and Allgig, and how do they interact with the MyGig radio.

Also, how many different MyGig radio's are there? The RER is MyGig with nav and REN is MyGig without? And not all RER's fit the Nitro?

I am looking to put in a MyGig into my Nitro, and I'm trying to sort all this out. Thanks ahead for all the help guys!

Ok, so i did some digging around on Nav-TV's website since I couldn't find any definitions on here.

Bluegig - Bluetooth, voice recognition, and camera integration
Freegig - In motion dvd and nav controls
Allgig - Combination of bluegig and freegig in one module

I still can't find any stuff on RER, REN radios anywhere....

The only thing I have heard regarding some RER or REN radios not working in the Nitro was a firmware thing. I thought all of the hardware was the same.

Thanks Waldorf. It was errors in my searching. I was only searching "rer" and the string was too short and it wasn't finding anything. Of course I only read "your search did not find anything" and was too lazy to read about the search string being too short.

I found the clarification I need and can start looking for the nav radio i want. Thanks again!

glad I was able to help. the search feature is great, but you have to give it broad enough criteria, or you get nothing, as you found out! good luck with your MyGiG install. Let us all know how it goes!

It won't be for a little while. Gotta get the funds together first. When I do get it though, I will document and post on here...

I also plan to do the FreeGig, not so much for the DVD playback while driiving, but for Navigation changes while driving.

Just for clarification, FreeGig, BlueGig, AllGig, are Nav-TV creations, no-body else has those right?

Can you give an example of this? The reason I ask is that I occasionally change the nav options while I'm driving, sometimes via UConnect, sometimes via the touch screen. I've never run into anything I want the nav to do that it can't already do while I'm driving.
