i have the 6 speed man. when shifting my rpm stays high sometimes goes up higher takes 5 to 10 sec. to come back down anybody else's do this and mine seem to have a surging sensation while just crusing around town any idea's

hey LB, as I stated in another post of yours, I think alot of your problems will be resolved once the flashes are done. just make a list and tell the service dept. maybe print out some of the info here and bring it with you. good luck and keep us posted!!

I also have the 6 speed but I don't have this problem, or at least I don't notice it as I shift very quickly.

The reason for this is that the ECM is programed to hold the RPM up or slightly increase it between shifts. This is a kind of idiot-proof way to give smooth shifts if done properly. It sounds like your ECM is over correcting and doing too much of this. I think this is triggered by some sensor on the clutch.

Perhaps the sensor on the clutch is out of whack.

How many RPM does yours jump? does it stay there? How long?

I generally never push my clutch all the way to the floor, except to start the engine. It seems to engage about 1/2 way from the floor. Maybe you are pushing the clutch futher than you need to and the time delay to engagement is exagerating the effect? Just a gues at this time.
