I was wondering if anyone knew what color the remote wire is on the factory harness...
I am installing subs and a 2 channel amp in my Nitro and there is a remote wire for the amp...

I believe its usually blue/white but this harness is completly different.

But anyways any help would be great

thanks in advance

Hello Clark and welcome to the forum. Just to make you aware there is no remote wire at the factory deck. Here is a link for a harness to add an aftermarket amp. LINK.

Also at the top of this forum is a sticky with radio pinouts that will also help you out.

Splicing into that wire is not a good idea, ever. Sorry. That circuit is a BUS circuit for computer module communication.
well what would be the proper way to do it?

I have it wired to a toggle so i can turn the power off to the amp, but im wondering what would be the best wire to run the power to?

why couldnt they have just put a damn remote wire in this thing lol

Doesn't need a remote wire the BUS communications tell it to turn on. The proper way I will say is to use the install harness supplied by PAC AUDIO suggested in the link I gave to you earlier.

I tapped into the ligher outlet in the front and then hid an amp disable switch to prevent mechanics/parking attendents from powering things up. I am not sure I would recommend amping the factory base radio though, it does a very poor job of filtering out computer generated noise and is rather noisy itself, making rather odd sounds with the digital volumn control set a low levels. I have had my Nitro about a year and already it seems as if the base radio is failing because it makes sharp crackling noises on all AM stations after it has been on a while that it doesn't do on FM or CD. It takes forever for the CD player to find the beginning of, or pass some songs if using the forward or back by track buttons. In all, just signs of very poor quality. The only reason I have not replaced it is that I want to leave the dash stock, as the rest of the system is almost completely hidden.
