This may be a stupid question but I bought my nitro used and I dont remember it ever saying 4x4 or 4x2 on any paperwork or anything.
so I was wondering how you tell if you have a 4x4 or not?

There will be a switch next to the gear shift to switch it from 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive

Well it says tow/haul....so I guess its overdrive. Would never know what to use it for. lol...well glad i dont have a 4x4 dont need that in flat florida

Look on the right rear lower tail gate( looking at the tail gate from behind) there would be a 4X4 in chome

Well you can do it that way too Tammy. Take a peak underneath and see if you have one or two driveshafts. If there is only one heading toward the rear wheels then it is 2 wheel, if there is a second smaller one heading forward as well, then it is 4 wheel.

I bought my Nitro used too and it has a 4x4 badge on the back lift gate, but no SLT, SXT, or R/T. Does that mean its the base model of the 4x4?

I don't think SXT's have a badge that says "SXT" I think if it doesnt have a badge that says SLT or R/T, then it's assumed its an SXT....
